Editorial December 2000

Atul Dev - Editor This is that time of the year which is associated with festivals and holidays virtually in all the Northern hemisphere countries. Most air sports events have ended by November and articles have started appearing in magazines. Somehow somewhere Air Sports International, based in New Delhi, is missing from every one's mind ! It is quite a chase for your Editor to locate authors and request them to give us stories. Quite a task, that.

We have in this issue, the December issue, a detailed report by Pat Brake on the 2000 Kodak Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This story is actually in three parts. First we have Pat's report. This is followed by a photo feature made up of some glorious pictures taken by the Kodak official photographer and finally Tom Garrity gives us some facts and figures of the events which are records of another kind.

In this issue we also have Sanjay Rao reporting from India on the perfect paragliding conditions available in India, in his article -- "Kamshet - The Perfect Paragliding Getaway." It will certainly tempt you to try and visit India for a paragliding holiday.

We also have Jean-Louis Monnet giving a detailed account of the FAI World Grand Prix-Asia 2000 in his report which is well illustrated.

We also carry herewith a first person account of the 2000 World Aeromodelling Championships for Control Line - F2D by Loet Wakkerman. He has said all there is to say without any holds barred. A bit critical at times but factual all the same and with no malice. Future organisers of air sports events would do well to take note of some of the points raised by him.

Happy reading!
