| Dear Sir, Just a short comment on the "Five Aces" photo at the Century of Aerobatics" page from April 2000. If I remember correctly, Bob Herendeen did not die in an aerobatic-related flight. He was up taking photos of some property he owned, and flew into a hill. I ( like everyone else ) was just stunned when I heard about it. I just found it so hard to believe that I could not help but wonder if he might have had a heart attack, or been incapacitated in some other way. I do know that he kept himself in excellent physical shape though. I was acquainted with Bob in the early 70's, and he was just such a nice man - he was one of my idols. Come to think of it, all of the men in that photo who died lost their lives in what I guess could be called "freak" accidents, as well as Leo Loudenslager dying from! motorcycle accident injuries ! I stumbled across your site by accident, and have bookmarked it. I
have been interested in aerobatics since late 60's ( thank you Bob Herendeen
), and have followed air racing, warbirds, and homebuilts. Thank you
very much for this site |
| Hi pilots, Does anyone know where I could find results from the last three major International paragliding competitions?
Or at least, which countries sent teams to any of these competitions? I know these comps all had web sites in the past, but they have all moved or disappeared. I am looking to see how far paragliding has spread throughout the world,
and the potential for Continental Championships. |
| Dear Friends, a few weeks ago we shipped a hang glider to San Juan - Puerto Rico. This hang glider has been shipped at Genoa (Italy) but never arrived at destination. We therefore believe that it has been stolen (or lost). The serial number of the hang glider is #6828, it is a L13ST Deluxe
with folding speed bar. Colours: Fluor Orange/Fluor Orange. If you ever should hear about this hang glider or see it fly (or catch
any info on it), please inform us about it. |
