MailGoing Back into History

Dear Editor,

Dossiers Aeronautique Avions Mudry, which was published about a year ago by Nouvelles is "the" book for CAP enthusiasts. The info there confirms my records - there are no CAP230, as all were converted to CAP 231 standard.

The "Life & Times of the Silver Chicken" would make a good article for Sport Aerobatics or BAeA Journal . I dug back into my WAC/EAC archive over the weekend. Sergio flew it at every WAC/EAC 1983-1995 apart from Red Deer. My notes show it had a new stronger wing in '84 and side-hinged canopy like on Zlins/Extras.It had aux airfoils at Yverdon in '90, then the following year at Muret wing leading edge fillets just like the CAP 232 and 300 horses. My notes say it was designated CAP21.31DS that year. Zlin 50LS with 300h.p. has been accepted as O.K. for AWAC, so for my money a 300 CAP 21 ought to qualify as well.
