Mail 13th World Precision Championships
From : Jan Hanekom

Dear Sirs,

I do not see any news with regards to the 13th World Precision Flying Championships to be held later this month in New Zealand. Is it possible to get daily updates once the event is running ?

Looking forward to your reply,

Jan Hanekom

Editor's Note:
The Championship was cancelled. Fresh dates will be notified and circulated by the FAI. Please see the FAI site: http://www.fai.org

Reply from President, FAI International Aerobatic Commission

Atul,

Thanks for your message. The Australian leg of the World Grand Prix is cancelled.

I have attached a copy of the Preliminary Schedule for the 2nd series of the FAI World Grand Prix of Aerobatics for your use and follow up. It appears that our first competition this year will not be until July and it remains to be confirmed.

I enjoyed the February issue --- particularly Karen Diamond's article, as I was there -- and the format and presentation of the magazine is very clean and easy to read.

With best regards,

Michael R. Heuer

Mail K-51 Peregrino
From : André e Ana Laura Kovács

Dear Sir,

I would like to introduce you to the most recent and new development in the segment of light aircraft trainers in Brazil and probably , around the world.

Mr.Joseph Kovacs, pioneer in the Brazilian aircraft history and designer of the main trainers development in Brazil (EMB-312 TUCANO , Neiva UNIVERSAL and others), has created the more recent work of art in his 50 years of career – The K-51 Peregrino.

We have plans to flight this year to Oshkosh and if possible present this aircraft to potential partners interested in make a business for the serial production (KITS and Ready to Flight Units). There are couple magazines publicizing the job we have done (like Flight and Air&Cosmos) and I wonder if you might be interested.

Attached you will find pictures that consolidate the last 8 years of work done by Mr. Kovacs and his family and if you are interested in more information, please feel free to ask.

Have a good day and thanks for the attention

André Kovács

Mail How airplanes fly
From : Brian Countryman

Great article. Very refreshing to see that some writers still know how to use the subjunctive of the verb "to be." Thanks for a good read.

- grammar police.
P.S. "When a plane passes overhead the formally still air ends up with a downward velocity." I believe "formerly" was intended.
